Dear Champaign County Lutheran Churches,

The Thrivent Board for Champaign County Chapter has signed on to build two houses in Champaign County in 2007. We applied for and were approved for two homes under the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity program. Various Thrivent members have volunteered to be on the Leadership Committee to help with this task.

Could you please help with the promotion of this event by putting some information in your church bulletin and also your monthly newsletter?

We realize that different churches have different needs — some can insert a 1/2 page insert to try to grab attention, while others can put in a short paragraph. We are trying to provide resources that you can use no matter what is available in your church.

Trivent Builds Homes with Habitat for Humanity in Champaign County
Thrivent Builds projects are well underway, with various churches already working on fundraising activities and others collecting names for volunteers to work on the site. The build schedule has been set, with groundbreaking on May 19th, workdays from June 2nd through Sept 8th and a dedication on Sept 15th. Lutherans helped build one home every 28 hours!
Through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity, 313 families realized the dream of homeownership. Thanks to Lutherans like you, 313 homes were built this year across the country with families in need of simple, decent, affordable housing. That’s about one home every 28 hours made possible by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members and other Lutheran volunteers!

You can help 355 families in need of affordable housing in 2007 – including 2 in our community! From the first nail to the last, building a home through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience. It’s not just concrete and wood, it’s tears and smiles, born of hard work and faith. And it’s the knowledge that you’ve helped change lives.
