Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, Illinois in 2007

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Champaign County Chapter is again teaming up with Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County to build homes in Champaign County in 2007. This website is designed to provide information to the churches involved, the workers involved, and the public on this project as the builds progress.

In 2004, Thrivent Builds Homes worked together with Habitat to build the Gant Home. Bringing the volunteer and financial resources of Thrivent together with the homebuilding experience of Habitat, we plan to build two homes for two families in the area during 2007.







Groundbreaking for the builds was held Saturday, May 19th at 10AM. Pictures and audio taken by the Illini Media Group can be found here.



Registration is required for workers on the site; you must pre-register so we know how many people will be able to work each week, so we have an adequate amount of work and supervision available. You may call Ellen Willcox (Habitat Volunteer Coordinator, 359-0507 x110).

The projects are being announced in 2006 starting Dec 17th. Please get these bulletin announcements inserted into your church bulletin as soon as possible. Check the "Contact Us" page and see if your church has a Champion identified yet. A page primarily for Champions, but useful for anyone interested in helping with the homebuilds, is found on our Champion page.

The form to sign up is found here. This can be printed out and mailed to Habitat or sent to your Congregational Champion.
